Poet of the Year

There is an undeniable kind of depth, blessedness and healing in Ketaki Mazumdar�s poetry. Raised in Kolkata, she is now based in Mumbai. Her career as a dedicated Early Years Teacher for 35 years, won her the National Award for Excellence in Teaching, 2001, presented by the then President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
She has authored several childrens� books as an educationist.
Another milestone in her career was the setting up of the Pre-Primary Section of The Cathedral and John Connon School, in the precincts of the famous 300 year old St. Thomas' Cathedral, Mumbai.
As a poet, Ketaki Mazumdar has authored two award-winning books of poems. �Woodsmoke and Embers� has won her numerous awards, including �Best Book�, �Poet of the Year�, �Creative Author� and �The Indian Women Achievers Award�.
Her latest book �Toasted Orange Embers� has already won her the 21st Century Emily Dickinson Award.
