Savita Singh
Author of The Magic Lift - Meeting the Rani
Fiction - Author of the Year
Savita Singh has been writing professionally since 1979 and has written more than 300 published short stories, articles, poems, dramas, etc, including twenty-two books. She writes in English and Hindi and has written right from children�s literature, to Mills & Boon kind of romances, to human-interest stories and some T.V. serials. She has translated from Hindi to English and done a stint as agony aunt.
In 2024, at the Kolkata Book Fest, she was presented the Fiction Book of the Year award for her book Dwarka by Ukiyoto in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India.
She was married to an army officer who died in a tragic helicopter accident in Rajouri, J&K, while on duty in 1990. She has been published in magazines like Woman�s Era, Champak, Femina, Sainik Samachar, and Illustrated Weekly. Her books have been published by India Book House, Rupa, Strategic Books, Ukiyoto, etc.
