It is a story about the hardship and love story of Hirang before and after the Japanese occupation in 1942. She was a Filipina mestiza who got a lot of discrimination because of her white skin color and her race. Her father was a Spanish soldier who left her mother because his family was against their relationship, even though she was pregnant with Hirang. Because of her mother�s experience, she always told Hirang to never fall in love with a soldier because they were going to ruin her life. And she did what her mother told her to. She never fell in love with soldiers until she met a Filipino soldier named Sulab, who was the appointed General in the province of Bulacan, which made her experience love for the very first time.
