Sanjai Banerji is an ultra-marathoner, certified mountaineer and author of four books, Crossing the Finish Line (Running), The Mountaineering Handbook (Mountaineering), Nobody Dies Tonight (Fitness in the Covid-19 Pandemic), a novel Justice on the Hills (Based on a fictional account of Gorkhaland) in five languages- English, Nepali, German, French and Filipino, and four short stories Guardians of Nathu La, Krishna's Quest for Kilimanjaro with his Team, A Journey of Friendship and Triumph and Pinky summits Mount Everest published in four anthologies. Sanjai is working towards a Netflix Series for the novel on Gorkhaland.
He recently became on 7th March 2024, at 64 years the oldest Indian with four medical conditions to summit the highest point of the African Continent at Mount Kilimanjaro (Uhuru Peak) 19,341 feet.
Sanjai Banerji has a B.Sc (Zoology) and MBA (Production) and is a gold medalist in journalism with 36 years of experience in the steel, paper, and cement sectors.
