This book was born on the occasion of the Initiative of the National Committee established within WikiPoesia and directed by Renato Ongania (the past president of the Poetic Encyclopedia), to commemorate the figure of the great Italian writer and poet Grazia Deledda, the only Italian poet to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature on December 10, 1926 (awarded to her in 1927). Deledda’s writings show her potential force of expression; her style is simple and direct in describing vivid and clear images of the countryside, as well as the life, customs, and traditions of simple persons, the protagonists of her books. The publication of this book enjoys the cultural patronage of Wikipoesia. About the translator Irma Kurti is an Albanian poetess, writer, lyricist, journalist, and translator.
