Dear Mom

This collection will be placed at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2023, Germany.

Mothers have the most difficult, endless job in the world, yet their work often goes unacknowledged. And especially as a child, we may not have been quite vocal to tell our moms how much we love them. So, we've come up with Mother’s Day that we celebrate to connect with our mothers and honour them.

On this day you get to show her how much you love and care for her. And yet it is so difficult to find just the right words, to say out loud how much she means to you. Although it is perhaps impossible to convey all the infinite love and enormous support she’s provided you even before you were born, you can try. In fact, you must try. So how about expressing yourself creatively? Maybe a poem, a letter, or a short story about motherhood, memories of the precious time spent with your mother, or a time when you two shared a good laugh over something!

Now here is a chance for you to put it down in words and bring your love for her forever etched on the pages.

All selected entries will be published (in the form of anthologies), distributed, and promoted by us as paperbacks, hardcovers, and eBooks worldwide, with an equal share of royalties paid to the authors.

Submission Process and Rules

a. Write a short story or letter – word limit is 1000 to 8000 words, or a poem (word limit is 200 to 4000 words), and submit it HERE for curation. NOTE - You may submit multiple stories/letters/poems but only one entry is allowed. So, you can compile all the content into a single file within the total word count as stated above.

b. Each entry must have a title.

c. Content should be in English only.

d. You can also include a photo of your mom.

e. Registration is compulsory.

You may register now and submit it later by 30th April.

Decisions pertaining to the selection of final entries will be made by Ukiyoto's editorial team.

Since content curation will be done on a rolling basis and there will be limited volumes, the earlier you submit, the better.

Content containing calls to violence or insults to any social groups will not be included!
