About the Event

It was said that Philo from Byzantium may be the first known writer known to describe the use of an invisible ink using some organic formulae. Later people discovered that the invisible ink could be made visible by adding a reagent and be used to send secret messages.

This venture is all about mystery, thriller and heists - maybe the most accurate crime, the horror fiction or the perfect murder mystery and all those related that lie under the oath of secrecy...

This project is planned to span over a period of time with physical book launches (the first one to be held at Iconic Indian Coffee House in Kolkata built in 1876 with the Albert Hall and situated opposite the historic Presidency College)

followed by pitching to production houses, directors, producers and those related in the industry for film making, otts and web series.

All submissions are online while those unable to join the book launch in person will have their deliverables conducted online and remotely.

––––

How to submit?

a. Write your most thrilling story between 1,000 and 8,000 words or poetry between 800 and 4,000 words and upload your manuscript here (by 30th June) after registering or getting your 'tickets'. [DO NOT submit screenplays].

b. Content should be in English only

c. Stories and poetry maybe on both fiction or non fiction (if non fiction, relevant and correct references may need to be provided).

We will curate content on a rolling process as, hence, the earlier you register and submit, the better it is for your books to come out.

The "works" would be placed in anthology/collections to be produced as books followed by pitch form creation to produce a catalogue for film pitching.

For Participants,

1. Launch at the iconic Indian Coffee House (first floor - Boi Chitra Art Gallery)

2. Pitch form and catalogue creation for film/ott/web series pitching to be done by us post production over a period of time.

3. Published, distributed and promoted by us as Paperbacks, Hardbacks and eBooks worldwide with equal share of royalty paid to authors on sale.

In case content is not taken up, registration amount will be refunded to the account within 7 days of intimation via Bank Transfer.

For any queries feel free to write to us at publishing@ukiyoto.com.

Disclaimer: We do not guarantee any work to be definitely produced as a film/ott since we are facilitators for story pitching to production houses, directors and producers only.
