Dr. Paramita Mukherjee Mullick
Author of The Sun through my Wine Glass
Poet of the Year
A scientist, editor, literary curator and poet. Has published eleven books and some poems have been translated into 45 languages. She promotes peace, multilingual, global and indigenous poetry. Through her poems she also makes others aware about conservation and climate change. In July she got the Mumbai Woman Leadership Award, in June, she was one of six women awarded in the theme, " Women: Breaking barriers, Shaping futures and Leading Change". She has received numerous other awards for her poetry apart from these. She is the Initiator and President of the Mumbai Chapter of the Intercultural Poetry and Performance Library and also the Cultural Convenor and Literary Coordinator of ISISAR
( West India). She has performed many solo poetry recitals in places like NCPA and Kala Ghoda Festival. Apart from curating for her forums she also curates a bimonthly poetry event for Nehru Centre Library. Anup Jalota for the first time in his career has sang an English song based on her poem, " Love Grows". The video of the same name with Paramita's recitation and Jalota's song is trending.
