An author who is unable to proceed with his story meets an intriguing young woman who promises to help him write. She seems to be the perfect reader, empathetic, intelligent, involved.
Over the next few months the author finds himself writing a story that is not his and living a life that he does not wish to see himself in. 
As the reader invades into the innermost spaces of his life, the colonial past of Pondicherry mingles with the multicultural present of the coastal town to make The Trespasser a story of storytelling and takes the readers on a journey of reading and living life as a story.
