Veil of Memories was created as a literary experiment in collaborative writing, through an open call that brought together authors with different sensibilities, poetics, and writing styles.
The starting idea was to bring individual voices, experiences, and inner worlds together into a single narrative built around the universal themes of memory, identity, loss, and healing. Veil of Memories shows how literature and art can create a safe space for exploring inner experiences.
Writing, reading, creating images, and shaping symbols allow a person to turn something difficult to express into a story. In this way, pain takes on a form, while what was once unclear and suppressed becomes visible and easier to understand.
Art does not erase trauma or change the past, but it can give an experience a new meaning.
Through metaphor, symbolism, and narrative, a person can begin a dialogue with parts of the self that have long been avoided.
In this sense, Veil of Memories is not only a literary work, but also an invitation to an inner journey. It reminds us that true healing is not found in forgetting, but in having the courage to lift the veil from our own memories.
Because memories do not return to break us.
They return to put us back together.
